Welding inspection and supervision for your project
Need welding work checked or support during a project? PWC provides welding inspectors and supervisors Australia-wide, plus overseas by arrangement. Tell us about the job, the site and the checks your customer requires.

A one-off check or help during the job
Inspection checks agreed parts of the work. Supervision provides support while the work is being carried out. We can discuss which help your project needs.
We provide welding supervisors full-time or part-time, and currently supply supervision to more than eight fabricators. We also carry out independent third-party inspection.

Checks at the right stage
The checks depend on the project and the agreed scope. Reviews can be carried out at the desk or on site.
Before welding
Review the drawings, welding procedures and welder records.
During welding
Check the agreed preparation and welding work, with visual surveillance on site.
After welding
Inspect the completed work and review the required records, including physical, metallurgical and corrosion test results.
What a welding supervisor can take on
Supervisors can support a project from commencement to handover, or help on smaller jobs.
Supervision support
- Site welding and safety audits
- Selecting welding consumables and techniques
- Preparing welding procedures and qualifying welding personnel
- Setting up Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
- Workshop and site inspection
- Welding quality assurance
- Preparing and maintaining Manufacturing Data Reports (MDRs)
- Day-to-day reporting to fabrication, site or engineering management
Clear findings and records
Agree on the inspection and reporting requirements before work starts. Tell us which documents your customer needs and how findings must be reported.

Regular reporting
On-site surveillance is reported weekly to the equipment owner or engineering organisation. We agree what each report covers before the work begins.
Common questions
What’s the difference between inspection and supervision?
Inspection checks agreed parts of the work at set stages. Supervision is support while the work is being carried out, from a single job up to a full project from start to handover.
Can you provide a welding supervisor full-time?
Yes. PWC currently supplies full-time or part-time welding supervision to more than eight fabricators, using our own certified supervisors and CSWIP 3.2 senior welding inspectors rather than subcontractors.
Where can your inspectors work?
Australia-wide, and overseas by arrangement. Some reviews can be carried out at the desk, and others need to be on site.
How are findings reported?
On-site surveillance is reported weekly to the equipment owner or engineering organisation. What each report covers is agreed before the work begins. Tell us if your customer needs a particular format.
